Physical properties of aluminum fluoride and the range of use

Aluminum fluoride is a colorless crystal, and some aluminum fluoride also has the appearance of white crystals. This crystal is insoluble in water and does not dissolve in acids and bases. The nature is relatively stable and can be hydrolyzed under heating. Mainly used for aluminum smelting. It can be prepared by the action of aluminum trichloride, hydrofluoric acid and ammonia.

    Mainly used in aluminum production to reduce the melting point and increase the conductivity of the electrolyte. Used as an inhibitor of by-fermentation in alcohol production. Also used as a fluxing agent and glaze component for ceramic glazes and enamel glazes. It can also be used as a flux for smelting non-ferrous metals.

    Handling precautions: closed operation, local exhaust. Operators must be specially trained to strictly follow the operating procedures. Operators are advised to wear self-priming filter dust masks, chemical safety glasses, gas-permeable gas-proof suits, and latex gloves. Avoid dust. Avoid contact with acids. Lightly load and unload during handling to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may be harmful residues. Storage Precautions: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. The package is sealed. It should be stored separately from acids and food chemicals, and should not be mixed. The storage area should be provided with suitable materials to contain spills.
